Internship: Mobile App Development Intern

About the Role

Help build an accessibility-first mobile app — a platform where people with disabilities can discover, review, and share information about how accessible businesses and services are in their community. Meaningful work with direct community impact in Virginia and D.C.

What You'll Do

• Build and test mobile UI components using Flutter or React Native

• Implement accessibility features for screen reader support

• Develop business listing and user review flows

• Integrate search, filtering, and map functionality

• Collaborate directly with our Executive Director throughout development

Ideal Background

• Computer science, software engineering, or a related field

• Experience with Flutter and Dart or React Native preferred

• Interest in mobile accessibility: WCAG, VoiceOver, and TalkBack

• Familiarity with REST APIs and Firebase is a plus

• Motivated self-starter who can work independently
